CHALLENGE
How can you use typography deliver the message of a weather forecast in two different ways?
SOLUTION—The Weather Forecast Report
The two designs explore two different design directions for communicating the same content and information about the weather forecast. While the second one communicates the content through my structured and clean typographical design, the first one approaches the content by giving the type an emotion. I designed type composition as a semantic expressive approach through treating the type “as an image”, in order to present the key words in the weather forecast such as "thunder storms", "variable cloudiness". I also designed the movements and action words such as "moving towards" by using tracking and kerning, italics font and different transparency. The original printed size is 12"x12". The project is created in Adobe Illustrator.
